Men: what’s with the shorts?
Since I have been doing a little research with men’s looks for summer 2012… I thought I would write about what kind of footwear to wear with shorts.
One. These are great JCrew shorts (JCrew is new to Vancouver and amazing!!), worn with a sweater and collared shirt. Perfect for casual office wear. The boat shoe is also something to consider. The contrasting colours of the shoe(Ami) make your outfit less plain. And we could all benefit from that.
Two. This is another great look. A light blazer with a collared shirt tucked into Ralph Lauren Black Label shorts. Don’t forget to wear a great belt to finish your look. The suede driving shoe(Car Shoe) is another shoe option for summer. I would also consider pairing a black leather converse with this look or the Oliver Spencer sneaker below.
Three. I love this casual look of the Rag and Bone denim shorts. Worn with a (Quoddy) boat shoe and no socks. A great weekend option.
Four. These Balenciaga shorts are great worn with a sneaker. Yes, you can wear a small sock…but don’t go crazy.
Five. Ok, I threw this in here because I often find that my male clients don’t know what to do with the “man sandal” idea. Yes, a flip flop is ok. If you are allowed to wear them to work maybe try and find a nice leather one. If you are wearing them to the beach, by all means, get the plastic ones. BUT…if you are at all wanting to kick it up a notch…try this kind of sandal. It’s time for boys to brave and stylish, no?
