I hope that you have had a summer as sunny as the weather. I am trying to get back into the swing of things after spending some great time off with my family and getting my new home in order. I also have been deciding on some career moves.  I am thrilled to announce that I will be moving to Nordstrom early September to work with them as a stylist on their team. I will no longer be working with The Room. I have spent the last 4 years helping clients shop with The Hudson’s Bay and The Room and have enjoyed everything from going to New York to help with the buys, being surrounded by amazing fashion, helping my clients find outfits they love and working with an incredibly talented group of people. I felt it was time for a fresh change. I feel that my clients will benefit from the massive selection of product offered at Nordstrom and know that they will receive the same (amazing) service from me. I am more than excited. I mean, Celine!!! I am also bringing the lovely Rebecca with me as my side-kick.

I wanted to give you some ideas of a perfect Capsule Wardrobe for fall. There are some things you may have already (yay!), and some you may need to consider. All of them you can think about until Nordstrom opens on September 18th.

1. The Mini Bag.

I am always a huge supporter of neutrals. I love putting my clients in black, white and other classic colors. But I have to say that adding a pop of color through a bag or an accessories is on-point this season. Alexander Wang.

2.The Pointed Ankle Boot.

I know that you love boots. If you live in Vancouver you know that we spend almost all of our time in boots from September to May. Maybe it’s time to add to your collection a boot like this. Acne Loma Bootie.

3. The Slim High-Waisted Jean.

I know you are going to fight me on this one. But I will just leave it as a suggestion – it’s quite comfortable. The mom jean- high and slightly shorter. Vetements. 

4. The Suede Skirt.

This is a cool retro idea that is back in full swing. You may substitute the suede for leather, but since this fall is all about textures it is a great piece to add to your collection. Tibi.

5. The Medium Length Coat.

What would we talk about if we couldn’t talk about how much we need a camel coat? It’s all about finding the best one for you. I can help and I am thinking Nordstrom will have PLENTY of options. Isabel Marant Caban Coat. 

6. The Lace Up Heel.

Aquazzura did something right. They got every famous Instagrammer to wear their shoes and subsequently made all of us desperately want ANY lace-up beauty they had for sale. Here’s a version for fall. Great with pencil skirts and skinny jeans. Aquazzura Muse Suede Heels.

7. The Brooch.

This could just be relevant because I keep seeing these and liking them. But adding this accessory to your white blouse or lapel of your blazer adds a refined edge that is also on trend. Simone Rocha.

8. Over-Sized Sweater.

This over-sized must-have is perfect for the cooler days of fall with dresses or skinny jeans and boots. The trick is to not be alarmed by the over-size and embrace the fact that you can look fashionable being warm in your air conditioned office. Acne.

9. Cashmere Sweater. 

Nothing new here just thought this would fit nicely in your capsule collection. And who doesn’t love Equipment for sweaters and tops?
