Skirts: The New Go-To
Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween. I decided to buy the halloween candy far too early and celebrated Halloween by eating mini chocolate bars pretty much every night leading up to Saturday. Oh! the remorse…terrible!! But it’s a new week and I can get back to walking swiftly by the gym with a side eye and surviving on coffee once more (just kidding…kind of).
I often get bored of my usual go-to outfits of some sort of skinny jeans, boots and blouse. I want to wear more skirts but have a hard time wearing heels with all my running around. This fall I looked for a way to wear skirts with my ankle boots that still fit with my personal style motto: comfortable.
I found this great Rachel Comey skirt at Nordstrom. I love that it is a color that we don’t often have in our wardrobes and it’s also a color that works great with black. I wear a lot of black…as you may have noticed.
I paired it with my Helmut Lang wool turtleneck sleeveless top. This is an item I highly recommend. The turtleneck sleeveless top looks great on it’s own or worn underneath a collared shirt or dress.
I love the high waist of the skirt. You could also wear this look with black opaque tights on colder days. These are my Margiela boots that I got a couple years ago. I love Maison Margeila ankle boots. Vince carries quite similar ones if you can’t find these ones. I look for a little bit of a heel as you want some height with the length of this skirt.
I decided to add a jean shirt over top of the sleeveless turtleneck to add some layering. I usually roll up my sleeves in all circumstances.
I love a good cross body bag. This one is Rag and Bone also from Nordstrom. This bag looks designer with out the price tag. If you are wanting to add a few accessories this season a few designer wrist cuffs add that bit of edge that might enhance your outfit. These are Hermes and Balenciagia.
AND for one last layer of amazing-ness, this Celine coat. Worn over the shoulders it’s the best kind of cape. More to come on my new coat next week…
