Yes, we just finished Christmas and New Years Eve is tomorrow night, and I can’t tell you how much I have been lounging in my cashmere sweaters this holiday… but spring is happening now (at least in fashion) and I thought you might want to start making your shopping list.

Distressed Denim.

Every one of my clients love new jeans. This season its all about the distressed denim. Opt to wear with heels or with a sporty runner. Ok…yes you can still wear them with your short bootie.

The Double Strap Sandal.

My boyfriend will cringe at this one. The Birkenstock is back. Some will argue they never took their’s off. Last years signs pointed high in this direction and I will bet that you will see them all over Vancouver feet this spring. I’m inclined to get the Celine sandals.

Sporty Chic.

I love this look. It’s like two worlds collide and apparently the fashion world is swaying to comfortable shoes. I’m all for it.

Short Pants. Or even Culottes.

These are a great alternative to the skinny pant. Worn with a little socket and short boot or oxfords or a loafer or even a sneaker… This of course is a little daring as you may not want to risk getting it wrong, but I say be bold and try it anyway.

Black and White.

Is this really new? Not at all. In fact I think that I write about black and white as a trend all through-out the year. But what is new- is how designers keep coming up with interesting ways to do it. Erdem manages to do it perfectly with the black on white over-lay. Try your sheer tank from fall with a white tank underneath for spring… Voila!!

Bold Prints.

Love Celine. Love prints. Their spring runway collection is just to die for. Take it into your wardrobe with mixing some bold prints of your own. Or take a risk and buy a printed, colourful spring trench.

And last but not leas, take a tip from my favourite fashion muse. Wear your scarf as a vest and then add a belt. Wow. I just wish that this was my idea.
